Paris and Camden Soldiers Return to Tennessee from Deployment

Smyrna, TN – More than 150 Tennesseans from the National Guard’s 212th Engineer Company, based in Paris and Camden, will return after a nearly one-year deployment to the Middle East supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Members of the unit will arrive at the Volunteer Training Site in Smyrna from Fort Bliss, Texas in two groups. The first group of personnel will arrive at roughly 1:30pm and the second at 2:30pm on December 21st, 2013, for out processing. Members will then proceed to their units in West Tennessee.The unit departed the Paris National Guard Armory during February 2013 to the McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport in Jackson, Tennessee, flying to pre-deployment training at Fort Bliss, Texas prior to supporting operations in the Middle East. During the deployment, the unit provided construction operations for coalition forces.

More than 28,000 Tennessee Army and Air National Guard personnel have deployed since September 11th, 2001.
