Tennessee National Guard Salutes Medical Professionals with Flyover

Nashville, TN – C-17 and KC-135 aircraft from the Tennessee Air National Guard will salute the state’s medical professionals and first responders during a statewide flyover Tuesday, May 12th, 2020.
The flyover, which is part of normal flight crew training and maintaining pilot proficiency, will coincide with National Nurses Week which ends May 12th.
Aircraft from the 164th Airlift Wing (C-17) in Memphis and the 134th Air Refueling Wing (KC-135) in Knoxville will fly over dozens of hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the state. The full list of flyover locations and approximate times are listed below.
Tennessee National Guard to support 58th Presidential Inauguration

Nashville, TN – More than three hundred and thirty Soldiers and Airmen from the Tennessee Army and Air National Guard will support the 58th Presidential Inauguration this week in Washington, D.C.
The 194th Engineer Brigade (Army), headquartered in Jackson, has 304 Soldiers providing command and control for Military Police Soldiers performing stationary security at different locations. A logistics team of supply and maintenance personnel are providing support for the MPs and a Religious Support Team.

Paris and Camden Soldiers Return to Tennessee from Deployment

Smyrna, TN – More than 150 Tennesseans from the National Guard’s 212th Engineer Company, based in Paris and Camden, will return after a nearly one-year deployment to the Middle East supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Members of the unit will arrive at the Volunteer Training Site in Smyrna from Fort Bliss, Texas in two groups. The first group of personnel will arrive at roughly 1:30pm and the second at 2:30pm on December 21st, 2013, for out processing. Members will then proceed to their units in West Tennessee. [Read more]
Tennessee Guard’s Maj. Gen. Mike Maloan retires

Nashville, TN – Memphis resident Maj. Gen. William Maloan, who served as the Deputy Commander, Joint Force Headquarters, Tennessee Army National Guard, retired February 17th, in ceremonies at the Tennessee National Guard Joint Force Headquarters.
General Maloan has served as the Deputy Commander since June 2007. He also serves as Presiding Judge and Chancellor of the 27th Judicial District for Weakley and Obion Counties in Tennessee.
