Nashville, TN – After holding steady for two weeks in a row, the Tennessee gas price average remains relatively unchanged this week with an increase of nearly a penny over last week.
The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.90 which is a penny more expensive than one month ago and 96 cents more than one year ago.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average held steady over last week with today’s average the same as one week ago. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.88 which is the same as one month ago and 94 cents more than one year ago.
“Peak summer driving season is in full-swing as Americans hit the road to explore and gas prices are not backing down,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Motorists are paying, on average, nearly a dollar more a gallon than last summer to fill up and close to 40 cents more than in 2019.”

More than 47.7 million Americans will take at least one domestic trip this Independence Day (July 1st–5th). This represents an increase of nearly 40% from last year, yet just 2.5% fewer than the 2019 holiday weekend.

“While April saw minimal fluctuation, May is likely to see much larger increases alongside demand spikes, especially closer to Memorial Day weekend,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Compared to May 2019, U.S. gasoline demand is down only 4% and gas prices are, on average, just two cents more.”
AAA releases Tennessee Year-End Travel Forecast

Nashville, TN – AAA Travel expects the vast majority of Americans to stay home this holiday season. Public health concerns and travel guidance are influencing their decisions not to travel over the year-end holidays, a period that typically sees high demand for vacations.
While AAA expects at least 34 million fewer travelers compared to last year’s holiday season, as many as 84.5 million Americans may still travel from December 23rd through January 3rd, a decline in travel of at least 29%.
