Summer Night Star Parties at Land Between the Lakes

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – The Golden Pond Planetarium at Land Between the Lakes will host a full array of stellar evening shows for the 2017 summer season.
Laser and evening planetarium showings and Star Parties offer indoor and outdoor activities after 5:00pm starting in May and lasting all summer.

Office of Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Summer Evening Planetarium Shows begin May 30th with Firefall at Golden Pond Planetarium followed by a Star Party.
Friends of Land Between The Lakes will present additional 8pm evening planetarium shows and star parties on select Saturdays during June, July, August, and September. Admission is $5.00 ages 13 and up, $3,00 ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.
Laser Light Music Shows returns to LBL’s Golden Pond Planetarium with Brand New Projector

Office of Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Laser Light Music Shows at Golden Pond Planetarium begin Saturday, May 23rd, at 5:30pm on a brand new, multimillion color laser projector. People can see laser lights synchronized to popular music fill the 40-foot dome every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at 5:30pm and 7pm through September 4th.
Additional Saturday shows are at 8:00pm May 23rd, June 6th and 20th, July 18th, and August 1st and 15th. Laser shows continue to be offered Tuesdays and Saturdays at 5:30pm and 7:00pm through October 31st, at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. All seats are $7.00.
LBL to hold Cub Scout Day at Woodlands Nature Station

Golden Pond, KY – Woodlands Nature Station will host Cub Scout Day on Saturday, November 22nd, from 10:00am-3:00pm. Activities, programs, and displays will center around the Cub Scout Astronomy Academic Achievement Award to help Cub Scouts gain their belt loop and pin awards.
The Cub Scout Day program is free with Nature Station admission: $5.00 for ages 13 and over, $3.00 for children 5-12, and free for 4 and under. Everyone is welcome.
Choosing and Using Binoculars and Telescopes presentation at Land Between the Lakes Saturday, November 8th

Golden Pond, KY – The Golden Pond Planetarium and West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers present “Choosing and Using Binoculars and Telescopes” following the 5:30pm planetarium program Saturday, November 8th, in the Golden Pond Visitor Center at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
This program introduces various binoculars and telescopes, and teaches basic skills required to use them.

Evening Shows and Star Parties at Land Between the Lake’s Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory

Golden Pond, KY – Evening Planetarium shows and Star Parties at Land Between The Lakes will begin Saturday, May 31st. Shows are presented by Friends of Land Between The Lakes at the Golden Pond Planetarium located in the Golden Pond Visitor Center.
Additional shows are on Saturdays at 8:00pm June 14th and 28th, July 12th and 26th, August 9th, 23rd, and 30th. Planetarium shows begin at 8:00pm; doors open at 7:30pm.
Evening Programs Return to LBL’s Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory

Golden Pond, KY – Take a trip to Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area to experience Planetarium shows and Star Parties presented by the Land Between The Lakes Association beginning May 25th, 2013, at the Golden Pond Planetarium located in the Golden Pond Visitor Center.
Starry Night programs begin with a stunning planetarium theater presentation in the 40-foot dome planetarium, then a live viewing of the night sky (weather permitting) through a 16-inch, Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope at the Golden Pond Observatory. Members of the West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers (WKAA) will also be hosting in depth Star Party astronomy programs.
Land Between the Lakes extends Laser Light Music Shows Due to Popularity

Golden Pond, KY – Due to popular demand, the Laser Light Music Shows extended their run through December at the Golden Pond Planetarium in the Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. During September and October, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, shows will run at 5:30pm and 7:00pm both days.
In November and December, shows only run at 5:30pm on Saturdays through December 22nd, the Saturday before Christmas. [Read more]
Summer Nights Program Returns to Golden Pond Planetarium

Golden Pond, KY – The Summer Nights planetarium and astronomy program presented by “Friends of LBL” will begin June 4th, 2011, at the Golden Pond Planetarium located at the Golden Pond Visitor Center in the Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. The planetarium is open seven days a week March through December.
Summer Nights features a planetarium theater presentation starting at 8:30pm in the 40-foot dome planetarium. The presentation is followed by live viewing of the night sky (weather permitting) through the 12.5 inch, equatorially mounted, Newtonian telescope at the Golden Pond Observatory. The dome of the observatory will be opened up and members of the West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers (WKAA) club will be on hand to help guide visitors through the night sky. [Read more]
LBL’s Golden Pond Planetarium to Host Astronomy Day May 7th

Golden Pond, KY – The West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers (WKAA) and Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will host National Astronomy Day on Saturday, May 7th, at the Golden Pond Visitor Center and Planetarium.
WKAA club members will be available throughout the day to answer questions, distribute information, and share telescopes for solar observing.
