Land Between the Lakes Expands List of Recreation Sites Temporarily Shut Down

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – To protect public health and align with federal, state, and local guidance to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) officials have announced the temporary shutdown of facilities, campgrounds, and developed camping areas for the safety of visitors and staff.
These measures are temporary but effective immediately. A date for reopening recreation areas is currently undetermined.
LBL to hold Annual Turkey Bay Volunteer Clean-up Day

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Volunteers are needed for the annual Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area clean-up day on Saturday, April 22, beginning at 9am at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Volunteers will engage in a variety of facility and trail maintenance projects.
“This is a great way to help us prepare our trails for riders,” explained Kyle Varel, Turkey Bay OHV Area Manager. “Helping us maintain our trails for the season has become a tradition for many of our riders.”

18th Annual Jeep Jamboree Returns to LBL’s Turkey Bay

Office of Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Jeep owners will soon travel to Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area at Land Between The Lakes for the 18th Annual Jeep Jamboree, Saturday and Sunday, May 15th-16th, 2015. To participate, Jeep owners must pre-register at www.jeepjamboreeusa.com .
Turkey Bay is one of 30 Jeep Jamboree locations nationwide and is considered to be a family oriented four-wheel-drive adventure destination.
LBL Administrative Office and Golden Pond Visitor Center Change to Holiday Schedule

Golden Pond, KY – The Golden Pond Visitor Center and Administrative Office at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will have modified hours during the 2014 holiday season.
The Elk & Bison Prairie, Wranglers Campground, and Turkey Bay OHV Area & Trails remain open during the holidays.
LBL Welcomes Spring with 2014 Season Opening

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area began its 2014 operations today, Saturday, March 1st, by opening several popular visitor attractions.
The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations opened their doors March 1st, along with Energy Lake, Hillman Ferry, and Piney Campgrounds. The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations will be open Wednesday through Sunday during March, then open seven days a week beginning April 1st.
LBL’s Turkey Bay OHV Area Temporarily Closed

Golden Pond, KY — Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) will be temporarily closed beginning Friday morning, December 20th, due to the 3 to 5 inches of predicted rainfall across the region between tonight and Sunday.
Isolated areas may receive even more rain. The heaviest rainfall is expected from late Friday night through midnight Saturday and will create extremely saturated soil conditions. [Read more]
Land Between the Lakes to hold Turkey Bay Trails Spring Clean-Up Day

Golden Pond, KY – Spring has arrived and so has another volunteer clean-up day at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area! Join us Saturday, April 13th, and help clean up Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area trails.
Participants ride free the day of the clean-up, and everyone is welcome to attend. Golden Pond, KY – Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area is temporarily closed, as of March 9th, due to receiving nearly 4 inches of rainfall in a 24-hour period resulting in extremely saturated soil conditions. Turkey Bay staff will re-evaluate trail conditions as the weather improves.
