New Licenses Valid Through February 2013
Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s 2011-12 hunting and fishing licenses expired Wednesday, February 29th. The 2012-13 licenses went on sale February 18th and are valid through February 2013.
License sales provide the primary funding for the TWRA, which does not receive any funding from the state’s general fund (i.e. state sales tax). [Read more]

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Karla Davis today announced new requirements of all employers in Tennessee to demonstrate that they are hiring and maintaining a legal workforce.

Department of Safety and Homeland Security issues nearly 2,400 Photo IDs for Voting purposes since July 1st

Department reminds Citizens that certain Driver Service Centers will be open on the First Saturday of November for Voter ID Issuance Only
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced Monday that as of October 24th it had issued 2,385 forms of photo identification for voting purposes since a new law went into effect making on July 1st photo IDs for voting purposes available at no charge.
The number of photo IDs issued for voting purposes includes original photo identification cards (for voters who had never been issued a driver license or photo ID and were not already in the Department’s database) and non-photo driver licenses converted into photo driver licenses. Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) announced today it is aggressively seeking men and women who are interested in careers in law enforcement for a new Trooper Cadet Class slated to begin January 22nd, 2012. Applications will only be accepted from Monday, August 15th through Friday, August 26th, 2011.
Individuals interested in applying for the position of State Trooper must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. Citizen and have a high school diploma or equivalent. No applicants with felony convictions will be considered. If hired, individuals must obtain a valid Tennessee Driver License, and are required to successfully complete a Level II background investigation, which includes a credit check and polygraph test. Recruits must also pass a physical agility test, as well as psychological and medical examinations, including a drug screening. [Read more]
