AAA reports Gas Prices Fluctuate Minimally after Holiday Weekend

Nashville, TN – AAA says Tennessee Gas Prices are holding steady compared to a week ago. The average price for gasoline is the same as last week and last month, but is six cents more than one year ago.
The national gas price average is one penny cheaper than last Monday at $2.58. Today’s average is three cents cheaper than last month, but 12 cents more expensive than last year at this time.

Today’s national average is $2.59, which is flat on the week, two cent less than a month ago and three cents more than this time last year. Across the country today, 61% of all gas stations are selling regular unleaded for $2.50 or less.

Today’s national average of $2.64 is one penny more than last week, two cents more than last month but 21-cents cheaper than last year.
U.S. refinery utilization dropped to its lowest rate – 83% – since September 2017, tightening gasoline supplies and causing nearly half of all state gas price averages to increase on the week.

AAA says Pump Prices are Dropping Fast with Summer approaching

Tampa, FL – AAA reports that since Memorial Day the national average dropped six cents on the week, following a consistent downward trend.
The decline is unusual for this time of year. Pump prices usually trickle higher during the summer months due to increased demand. However, the latest Energy Information Administration (EIA) report reveals that total domestic gasoline inventories jumped a million bbl last week, helping to push pump prices lower.
National Average Sees Smallest Weekly Increase in Eight Weeks

Tampa, FL – With only a penny increase on the week, the national gas price average saw the smallest one-week jump since mid-February. For the last eight weeks, weekly jumps ranged anywhere between a nickel and a nearly a quarter.
“On the week, 30 states saw pump price increases or decreases of three cents or less which helped keep the national average relatively steady, but motorists shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.
