AAA reports Tennessee Gas Prices remain Steady

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average held steady over the last week with the state average remaining unchanged from the previous week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.69 which is the same as one month ago and $1.15 more than one year ago.
“While April saw minimal fluctuation, May is likely to see much larger increases alongside demand spikes, especially closer to Memorial Day weekend,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Compared to May 2019, U.S. gasoline demand is down only 4% and gas prices are, on average, just two cents more.”
AAA says Crude Oil Prices Hit Highest Price Point in Nine Months

Washington, D.C. – AAA reports that pump prices increased on the week despite U.S. gasoline demand falling below 8 million b/d, the lowest weekly reading since June and the softest demand reading for the week of Thanksgiving since 1997.
At $2.16, the national gas price average is more expensive on the week (+4 cents) and the month (+5 cents), but cheaper (-42 cents) compared to last year at this time.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average remains steady, increasing only a penny over last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.90 which is four cents more than one month ago and 43 cents less than one year ago.
“Gas prices were predicted to decrease following the holiday, but robust gains in crude oil prices and the OPEC decision to increase production next year led to a number of states seeing pump price jumps of 3 to 12 cents,” said Megan Cooper, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “In Tennessee, the change in pump prices was minimal at only a penny increase and prices remain relatively cheap at 43 cents lower than this time last year.”
AAA reports Tennessee Gas Price Average rises Two Cents

Nashville, TN – Tennessee gas prices, on average, are up two cents this week – breaking a four week streak of declines. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.87 which is seven cents less than one month ago and 46 cents less than one year ago.
“Following a jump in demand, Tennessee broke its 29-day streak of declines and the state gas price average rose two cents,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “However, with many states seeing rising COVID-19 case numbers and a number of officials warning against holiday travel, demand is likely to see a dip in coming weeks.”

Nashville, TN – Tennessee gas prices, on average, increased slightly over last week – only rising nearly two cents. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.89 which is 20 cents more than one month ago and nearly 46 cents less than one year ago.
“Demand levels are likely to ebb and flow in the coming weeks as people continue to be cautious about travel,” said Megan Cooper, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. As a result, pump prices will likely continue to increase, but at a slower rate through the end of the month.
AAA reports National Average rises back to $2.00 Per Gallon

Tampa, FL – For 66 days, the national gas price average held below the $2.00/gallon mark, pushing as cheap as $1.76. In the past week, the average has inched up to $2.03. Despite the consistent increases at the pump, prices are still significantly cheaper year-over-year.
In fact, during the first week of June the past five years, gas prices have typically averaged $2.81.
AAA reports Tennessee Gas Prices rise 8 Cents

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average jumped eight cents this week – the largest weekly increase the state has seen so far in 2020.
The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.79 which is nearly 23 cents more than one month ago and nearly 64 cents less than one year ago.
National Gas Price Average rises close to $2.00/Gallon

Tampa, FL – The national gas price average is $1.97, just one penny more expensive than last week. Part of the incremental jump can be attributed to increases in gasoline demand, which saw a 7% week-over-week increase.
However, demand is still down nearly 25% compared to last year, according to the Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) latest reports.
AAA says Motorists to see Cheapest Memorial Day Pump Prices in Nearly Two Decades

Nashville, TN – After breaking a ten week decline last week, Tennessee gas prices continue to inch higher. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.63 which is only a two cent increase over last week and three cents higher than one month ago.
To keep things in perspective, Tennesseans are still experiencing gas prices that are 92 cents cheaper compared to this time last year.
AAA says Tennessee Gas Prices Likely to Level Out

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average continues to decline and has dropped two cents since this time last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.54 which is nearly 17 cents less than one month ago and nearly $1.07 less than one year ago.
“As parts of the state move towards a phased reopening, we expect to see more drivers on Tennessee roadways,” said Megan Cooper, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “This will likely cause pump prices to fluctuate and level out over the next week.”
