Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced that antlerless deer hunting will be allowed on all privately owned lands in Unit L counties January 8th-12th, 2018. This is the third year for the five days of hunting following the completion of the deer season on January 7th.

Privately owned lands include leased land and lands owned by individuals.

Tennessee Highway Patrol plans “No Refusal” Enforcement during New Year’s Eve Holiday

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) will conduct a “No Refusal” traffic safety enforcement campaign during the 2015 New Year’s Eve holiday period, beginning Thursday, December 31st at 12:01am and concluding Monday, January 4th at 11:59pm.

State troopers will perform saturation patrols, seat belt, sobriety and driver’s license checkpoints as well as bar/tavern checks during the holiday. All of Tennessee’s ninety five counties will have troopers working to ensure a safe holiday as we conclude 2015 and begin 2016.

The memorial commemorates Tennessee firefighters killed in the line of duty.

TWRA reports Spring Turkey Harvest again passes 30,000 mark

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Tennessee turkey hunters passed the 30,000 harvest mark for the 13th straight year during the spring season which concluded May 17th across the state.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports that the 2015 harvest stands at 31,429. Numbers continue to trickle into the Agency.

The harvest currently stands a little less than the 2014 harvest of 32,495 and 2013’s 32,489. [Read more]

When it comes to the forecast for the season, sportsmen can look forward to what is expected to be another good year in terms of harvest numbers.

4,473 Deer Harvested in Henry County

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Close to 165,000 deer were harvested in Tennessee during the recently completed 2014-15 seasons according to data gathered by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

The statewide gun season concluded January 4th and the youth hunt followed on January 10th-11th. The harvest numbers range from the start of archery season on September 27th, 2014 through the final youth hunt. [Read more]

Tennessee State Troopers Will Enforce “No Refusal” Law

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct a “No Refusal” enforcement campaign during this year’s Labor Day holiday period.

This special enforcement effort will begin at midnight on Friday, August 29th and conclude at 11:59pm on Monday September 1st.
