AAA reports Gas Price Average could see Temporary Hike after Hurricane Ida

Washington, D.C. – According to AAA, the national gas price average decreased by two cents as of Sunday, the cheapest price since early July, but was back up a penny to $3.15 Monday morning following Hurricane Ida.
The storm has left more than one million people in Louisiana and Mississippi without power and has likely taken about 13% of U.S. refining capacity offline. There were nine oil refineries in Ida’s path; at least four were believed to have shut down operations ahead of the storm.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average held steady over last week, however, the aftermath of Hurricane Ida is likely to cause gas price fluctuations leading into Labor Day weekend.
The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.85 which is four cents less than one month ago and 86 cents more than one year ago.

The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.88 which is 18 cents more than one month ago and $1.18 more than one year ago.
AAA reports Southeast Continues to See Tight Supply as Gas Prices Stabilize

Washington, D.C. – The national gas price average is the most expensive in six years at $3.04. Gas prices were expected to flirt with $3.00/gallon leading up to Memorial Day weekend, but last week’s shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline caused prices to spike weeks ahead of the holiday.
On the week, the national average jumped eight cents.

AAA reports Tennessee Gas Prices Rise 18 Cents in Aftermath of Colonial Pipeline Shutdown

Nashville, TN – AAA says gas prices across Tennessee jumped nearly 18 cents over last week in response to the recent Colonial Pipeline shutdown that led to a deluge of demand for gasoline as well as tight gasoline supply across the Southeast.
The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.89 which is 19 cents more than one month ago and $1.27 more than one year ago.
AAA says Memorial Day Holiday Travel to Rebound to More Than 37 Million

Orlando, FL – AAA Travel expects a significant rebound in the number of Americans planning to travel this Memorial Day holiday weekend.
From May 27th through May 31st, more than 37 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home, an increase of 60% from last year when only 23 million traveled, the lowest on record since AAA began recording in 2000.

AAA reports Motorists to see Relief in Southeast with Restart of Colonial Pipeline

Washington, D.C. – AAA says motorists in the southeast can expect to see fuel flowing at local pumps in coming days. Late on Wednesday, the Colonial Pipeline announced the restart of pipeline operations.
While it will take several days for operations to get back to normal, this news will help to ease the supply strain seen on the East Coast – especially in southern Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia and Tennessee.
AAA says National Gas Price Average to climb this week due to Colonial Pipeline shutdown

AAA forecasts gas prices to climb this week in reaction to the shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline, which delivers approximately 45% of all fuel to the East Coast.

Tampa, FL – Over the weekend Hurricane Delta made landfall in southwestern Louisiana as a category 2 hurricane. While the storm caused some disruptions, refineries are reporting operations have resumed.
The Colonial Pipeline Line 1, the main gas line, was down temporarily over the weekend due to loss of power, which has since been restored as well as service. Line 2, the distillates line, is currently shutdown without power.
