AAA reports Gas Prices drop below $2 in Georgia and Tennessee

Tampa, FL – Gas prices fell below $2.00 a gallon at various filling stations in Georgia and Tennessee last week, and prices in Florida are not far behind. The lowest prices in Florida are in the Jacksonville area at about $2.10 a gallon.
If prices keep falling at a rate of 2 cents a day, Florida motorists could begin finding gasoline below $2.00 by the end of the week. [Read more]
AAA estimates more than 98.6 Million Travelers Expected for Year-End Holidays

Busy year-end holidays will be marked by most travelers on record
Tampa, FL – The year-end holiday season should see the highest travel volume on record (AAA travel data dates back to 2001).
AAA projects 98.6 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the year-end holiday season, an increase of four percent from the 94.8 million people who traveled last year.
The year-end holiday period is defined as Tuesday, December 23rd to Sunday, January 4th.
AAA reports Gas Prices near $2.00 a gallon in Tennessee

Tampa, FL – Motorists are saving an average of $10.00 for a tank of gas compared to this time last year. Gasoline prices crept closer to $2.00 a gallon last week and nothing is slowing them down. Domestic oil supply is at a three decade high and forecast to keep growing. Meanwhile, the price of oil fell to its lowest level in five years.
“Oil prices are plunging because there is so much oil in the market,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “It’s unclear exactly how long this will continue, but gas prices will keep falling as long as oil prices do. Right now, oil prices are forecast to fall through the first half of next year, which further increases the likelihood of $2.00 gasoline.” [Read more]
LBL announces Administrative Office and Golden Pond Visitor Center Holiday Schedule

Golden Pond, KY – The Golden Pond Visitor Center at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will open at 9:00am and close at 3:00pm on Christmas Eve, December 24th, and remain closed on Christmas Day, December 25th.
The Administrative Office will be closed Christmas Day. The Golden Pond Visitor Center will open at 9:00am and close at 3:00pm on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, and remain closed New Year’s Day, January 1st.
