Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to hold Fifth Annual Operation Dry Water Weekend June 28th-30th

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will be participating in Operation Dry Water, June 28th-30th. Operation Dry Water is a national weekend of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) education and enforcement directed toward reducing alcohol and drug-related accidents and fatalities.
Operation Dry Water is held on a weekend prior to the July 4th holiday to give BUI enforcement high visibility during the peak boating season.
Memorial Day Weekend Kicks Off 2013 Boating Season

Nashville, TN – Memorial Day holiday weekend is regarded as the unofficial start to the summer boating season and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency wants to emphasize the use of life jackets while boating in a safe and responsible manner.
Annually, the Memorial Day weekend is one of the year’s busiest boating weekends. Last year over the holiday weekend, there were no boating fatalities for the second consecutive year. There were six reported accidents, two of which resulted in injuries.

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officials remind all those who visit the state’s waterways for the July 4th holiday to be safe for what is annually one of the busiest boating times of the year.
TWRA officials emphasize the use of personal flotation devices (PFDs) while boating in a safe and responsible manner. The TWRA wants all those who visit the waterways to have an enjoyable time. However, TWRA officers will be on the watch for dangerous boating behavior, such as boating under the influence (BUI) and other reckless operation. [Read more]
Land Between the Lakes Law Enforcement Safety Tips

Golden Pond, KY – In time for one of the most popular holidays at Land Between The Lakes (LBL), Forest Service Law Enforcement Officers are offering their annual list of safe habits to follow while visiting the National Recreation Area and area State Resort Parks.
“We want everyone to have fun while they are here,” explains Forest Service Law Enforcement Patrol Captain, Duane Cameron, “and often times practicing safe habits can make all the difference in the world. Already this year a boat motor explosion injured a man and caused damage to his boat. This could have been avoided through proper ventilation before starting the engine.” [Read more]
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Operation Dry Water set for the Weekend of June 22nd-24th

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be participating in Operation Dry Water, June 22nd-24th. Operation Dry Water is a national weekend of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) education and enforcement directed toward reducing alcohol and drug-related accidents and fatalities.
Operation Dry Water is held on a weekend near the July 4th holiday to give BUI enforcement high visibility during the peak boating season. The TWRA is teaming with the U.S. Coast Guard and the State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA). Operation Dry Water is being held for the fourth year after being launched by the NASBLA in 2009.
