LBL “No Hunting” Zones Open to Archery Deer Hunting

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will open certain areas typically marked as “No Hunting” zones for archery deer hunting December 1st through January 17th. Hunters are encouraged to harvest deer without antlers in these areas to reduce deer populations.

Areas open to archery hunting include Piney Campground and Brandon Spring Group Center. Archery hunting will also be permitted in the South Nature Watch Demonstration Area across The Trace from South Welcome Station, in the eastern portion of Hunt Area 16. Hillman Ferry Campground will be open for archery hunting during the above dates. During that time, they will be closed December 10th-12th, for a special event. [Read more]

Tennessee’s Deer Archery Season kicks off September 25th

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency expects bowhunters to be out in force for Tennessee’s 2010 archery deer hunting season which kicks off on Saturday, September 25th.

The deer archery season will again be divided into three segments statewide this year. The first segment runs from September 25th-October 29th while the remaining two will be November 1st-5th, and December. 6th-17th.

For better wildlife management, Tennessee is divided into the three deer units-A, B, and L. The anterlesss deer bag limit for each unit is: Unit A -4; Unit B -2; and Unit L -3 per day.
