He graduated from Austin Peay State University in 2011 with a B.S. in Communications, majoring in Communication Arts with a concentration in print and web journalism. His writing career began as a sports writer for The All State, the APSU student newspaper, in 2006. He continued working for the paper until his graduation, serving in various positions including Sports Editor and Editor-in-Chief. In 2010, Scott contributed stories and photographs as well as designed and served as Editor-in-Chief for the monograph, Civic Art of Clarksville: The stories behind the pieces. Unemployment Rates In Nearly All Tennessee Counties Remained Under 5.0 Percent In October
State Continues to Experience Record Low Unemployment
Nashville, TN – Nearly all Tennessee counties continued to have unemployment rates below 5.0 percent in October 2017, following a record-breaking September when, for the first time ever, each of the state’s 95 counties experienced a rate below 5.0 percent.
October marked the fifth consecutive month Tennessee’s statewide unemployment rate was in record territory, matching the all-time low of 3.0 percent set the month before.

AAA says One Third of 2015 Vehicles missing Spare Tire
Knoxville, TN – According to new research from AAA, eliminating the spare tire may leave more than 30 million drivers helpless at the roadside. Automakers have been under increased pressure from the Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency to produce more fuel-efficient vehicles.
One way to accomplish this is by removing the spare tire and replacing it with tire inflator kits. This reduces the weight of the vehicle providing for better fuel performance. AAA urges automakers to put consumer interests first and rethink eliminating the spare tire.

Henry County Lady Patriots and Rossview Lady Hawks advance to District Tournament Championship
Clarksville, TN – The District 10-AAA girls basketball tournament continued Saturday at Kenwood High School. Four teams competed with the winners advancing to the Championship game and the losers going to the consolation game.
The Henry County Lady Patriots and the Rossview Lady Hawks secured wins and will face each other in the tournament championship game.

Henry County Patriots Buzzer Beater Gives Kenwood Knights Third Straight District Loss
Clarksville, TN – In basketball, the phrase buzzer beater conjures images of long jump shots from behind the three-point arc or half court as the last seconds of the clock wind down. Friday night at Kenwood High School, the Knights suffered their third straight district loss to the Henry County Patriots, 42-44, due to a buzzer beater. However, this game winning shot was not a long 3-pointer.
The game was tied at 42 with four seconds left on the clock when Angel Hall missed two free throws that would have given the Knights a lead.

Henry County Lady Patriots Post Game Slays Kenwood Lady Knights, 66-32
Clarksville, TN – The Kenwood Lady Knights (5-14) did not have an answer to the Henry County Lady Patriots (13-8) post game Friday night at Kenwood High School. The Lady Patriots used their superior size inside to dominate the Lady Knights, 66-32.
It was a long night for the Lady Knights. In addition to being fed a steady, unstoppable diet in the post, they watched open shots uncharacteristically roll off the rim throughout the game.

Ashley Martin Scores 3 in Henry County Lady Patriots 4-2 Win Over West Creek Lady Coyotes
Clarksville, TN – Henry County’s Ashley Martin made back-to-back goals in the second half to give the Lady Patriots a 4-2 win on the road against the West Creek Lady Coyotes Thursday. Martin scored three of the Lady Patriot’s four total goals.
Neither team had a clear advantage in the first half of the game. After battling to a 1-1 tie, the Lady Patriots made a last minute push in the first half that paid of with a goal by Sakura Horiuchi.
Ahead 2-1, Martin scored her second goal of the game off a nice cross from her teammate Sophie Carter in the 56th minute. Two minutes later, Martin had the ball again surging up the middle less than 10 yards from the Lady Coyotes goal. «Read the rest of this article»
Henry County Patriots Prevail Over Northeast Eagles 43-14, Advance to State Finals
Paris, TN – The Henry County Patriots pounded out 270 total yards and five touchdowns on the ground to eliminate the Northeast Eagles in state semifinal football play, 43-14.
“It feels good. Didn’t make it last year, back this year, It feels good. The kids deserve it.They played hard,” Henry County’s head coach James Counce said. “Northeast is a very good football team, well coached. They have a lot of talent.”
