TWRA announces Three Youth Spring Turkey Quota Hunt Applications now being accepted

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is announcing that three Young Sportsman 2017 spring turkey quota hunts is underway.
The available youth hunts are Tellico West on March 25th-26th (5 hunter quota), Tellico Lake WMA (McGhee Carson Unit), on March 25th-26th, (5 hunter quota), and Yuchi Refuge on March 17th-19th (10 hunter quota). The deadline for entry is January 18th.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports Fall Turkey Harvest stands at more than 1,400

Nashville, TN – Tennessee turkey hunters recorded 1,464 harvests during the two-week 2014 fall turkey season which was held in October.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports that the 2014 fall harvest stands at 1,464. The harvest is 165 less than the 1,628 harvested during the 2013 fall season. Fall turkey hunting was allowed in 78 of the state’s 95 counties this fall. [Read more]
TWRA reports Spring Turkey Harvest passes 30,000 mark; slips slightly by 2013 Total

679 Turkeys Harvested in Henry County
Nashville, TN – Tennessee turkey hunters passed the 30,000 harvest mark for the 12th straight year during the spring season which concluded last month.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports that the 2014 harvest stands at 32,495. The harvest just slips past the 2013 total of 32,489.
Sportsmen faced inclement weather on several weekends during the season. [Read more]
