Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced the application period for the 2016 Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Big Game Quota Hunts, the regular elk, youth elk, and WMA youth will run from June 15th through July 27th.
Entries must be submitted before midnight (CDT) July 27th. The WMA hunting instruction sheet lists locations and dates for each of the quota hunts along with drawing rules and regulations. Instruction sheets can be obtained and applications made for the hunts at any TWRA license agent, TWRA regional office or online at the TWRA website, www.tnwildlife.org

TWRA is excepting 2016 Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Big Game Quota Hunt applications now through July 27th.
Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission announces Water Fowl Seasons and Fishing Proposals at August meeting

Morristown, TN – The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission approved the 2015-16 late waterfowl hunting seasons and was presented the 2016-17 state’s fishing regulations proposals at its August meeting on Friday. In addition, the participants in Tennessee’s 2015 elk hunt were announced.

TWRA to auction Fifth Permit for 2015 Elk Hunt on Ebay, July 16th-26th

Nashville, TN – The fifth permit for participation in Tennessee’s sixth managed elk hunt will be awarded to the successful bidder in an eBay auction to be held from July 16th-26th. Proceeds from the auction benefit the state’s elk restoration program.
Since the elk hunt was implemented in 2009, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has donated a permit to a Non-Governmental Organization to join four others who will be chosen from a computer drawing. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation (TWRF) is the recipient of this year’s donated special take permit. [Read more]

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is announcing that the application deadline is nearing for the 2015 Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Big Game Quota Hunts, the regular elk, youth elk, and WMA youth hunts. Entries must be submitted before midnight (CDT) on Wednesday, July 23rd.
The WMA hunting instruction sheet lists locations and dates for each of the quota hunts along with drawing rules and regulations.

2014 TWRA Elk Hunts have Five Harvests

Nashville, TN – For the second consecutive year, four of the five participants recorded harvests in the Tennessee Elk Hunt held October 20th-24th at North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area.
In the Tennessee Youth Elk Hunt, held the weekend of October 25th-26th, the participant had a harvest for the third in as many years since the hunt was established. Robert L. Goodner, a 14-year old from Cleveland was the first boy selected for the youth hunt. [Read more]

Elk Hunt Winners to be announced during June Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission Meeting

Nashville, TN – The four winners selected to participate in Tennessee’s fourth managed elk hunt will be announced during the June meeting of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission on June 14th-15th (Thursday-Friday).
Committee meetings will begin at 1:00pm on June 14th. The formal meeting will begin at 9:00am on June 15th. The elk hunt winners will be announced during Friday’s session. The meeting will be held at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Region II Ray Bell Office Building and is open to the public. [Read more]
