TWRA announces First Young Sportsman Deer Hunt set for October 31st-November 1st

Nashville, TN – The first of two Tennessee young sportsman deer hunts for the 2020-21 season will be held the weekend of October 31st-November 1st, 2020.
Youth ages 6-16 may participate. Participating youth can use gun, muzzleloader, or archery equipment.
Young sportsmen must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult, 21 or older who must remain in position to take immediate control of the hunting device.

Nashville, TN – The first of two Tennessee young sportsman deer hunts for the 2017-18 season will be held the weekend of October 28th-29th, 2017.

The adult must also comply with the fluorescent orange regulations as specified for legal hunters. Multiple youth may be accompanied by a single qualifying adult.

Nashville, TN – Deer hunting season is coming to a close in Tennessee. The gun season for deer concludes on January 4th while the second Young Sportsman Hunt for 2014-15 is January 10th-11th.
For the Young Sportsman Hunt, youth, 6-16 years of age are allowed to participate. The young sportsmen must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult at least 21 years of age who must remain in a position to take control of the hunting device. [Read more]

TWRA reports Young Sportsman Deer Hunt numbers show slight increase

Nashville, TN – Harvests from Tennessee’s first Young Sportsman Deer Hunt of the 2013-14 season were very similar to the fall of 2012, showing a slight increase. The youth hunt was held across the state on October 26th-27th.
The young sportsmen harvested 8,484 deer in Tennessee’s 95 counties. The number is up 150 deer from 2012’s 8,334. [Read more]
Tennessee’s Second Segment of Gun Season for Deer starts today

Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s gun season for deer hunters resumes today, December 18th and will continue through January 9th. 2011.
Since archery season opened in late September, more than 122,500 deer have been harvested in the state. Giles County has the top overall harvest with 3,663. [Read more]
