AAA reports Tennessee Gas Prices go up Six Cents

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average continues to trend upward, climbing six cents over last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.98 which is 12 cents more than one month ago and 34 cents less than one year ago.
“The recent gas price pump increases are a bit surprising given December demand numbers are the lowest posted for the month since 1999,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Rising crude oil prices and tightening supply are the main factors contributing to the uptick in pump prices.”
AAA says Gasoline Demand Declines for Fourth Straight Week

Washington, D.C. – AAA reports that since the beginning of November, U.S. gasoline demand has softened.
The Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) data shows demand measured at 8.7 million b/d for the week ending November 6th. In their latest report, for the week ending December 4th, demand measured at 7.6 million b/d. That is the lowest reading since the end of May and marks four weeks of straight decline.

Nashville, TN – AAA reports Tennessee gas price average remains relatively steady, up nearly two cents from last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.92 which is four cents more than one month ago and 38 cents less than one year ago.
“Gasoline demand is down 14% year-over-year. The numbers we are seeing as of late are very similar to readings from May when many states were locked down and demand was very low,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “The fact is, Americans are filling-up less as states re-introduce travel restrictions and the pandemic lingers.”
AAA says Crude Oil Prices Hit Highest Price Point in Nine Months

Washington, D.C. – AAA reports that pump prices increased on the week despite U.S. gasoline demand falling below 8 million b/d, the lowest weekly reading since June and the softest demand reading for the week of Thanksgiving since 1997.
At $2.16, the national gas price average is more expensive on the week (+4 cents) and the month (+5 cents), but cheaper (-42 cents) compared to last year at this time.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average remains steady, increasing only a penny over last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.90 which is four cents more than one month ago and 43 cents less than one year ago.
“Gas prices were predicted to decrease following the holiday, but robust gains in crude oil prices and the OPEC decision to increase production next year led to a number of states seeing pump price jumps of 3 to 12 cents,” said Megan Cooper, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “In Tennessee, the change in pump prices was minimal at only a penny increase and prices remain relatively cheap at 43 cents lower than this time last year.”
AAA reports Gas Prices fall heading into Thanksgiving Holiday

Washington, D.C. – At $2.10, this Thanksgiving’s national gas price average is shaping up to be the lowest since 2015. The holiday weekend average that year was a nickel cheaper at $2.05.
“Typically, cheaper gas prices are an incentive for people to travel during a holiday weekend, but that is just not the case this year,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.

AAA reports Tennessee Gas Price Average rises Two Cents

Nashville, TN – Tennessee gas prices, on average, are up two cents this week – breaking a four week streak of declines. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.87 which is seven cents less than one month ago and 46 cents less than one year ago.
“Following a jump in demand, Tennessee broke its 29-day streak of declines and the state gas price average rose two cents,” said Megan Cooper, spokeswoman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “However, with many states seeing rising COVID-19 case numbers and a number of officials warning against holiday travel, demand is likely to see a dip in coming weeks.”
AAA reports Gas Demand Weakens as Motorist Continue to See Cheaper Pump Prices

Tampa, FL – The national gas price average pushed a penny cheaper on the week to $2.11 following an increase in gasoline stocks and a dip in demand. Stocks added 1.5 million bbl to total 227.6 million bbl, in the Energy Information Administration’s latest report, while demand decreased to 8.3 million b/d.
“As some states increase travel restrictions and others roll back reopening processes, demand is positioned to weaken, though not likely drop as low as we saw in March and April,” said Jeanette Casselano McGee, AAA spokesperson. “That translates to a continuation of cheaper gas prices at the pump.”

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee gas price average continues to decline and has dropped two cents over last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.85 which is nine cents less than one month ago and nearly 51 cents less than one year ago.
Tennessee’s state gas price average has declined the past 27 consecutive days for a total discount of nine cents.
