AAA
Tampa, FL – Dropping by two-cents on the week, the national gas price average is $2.95 reports AAA. This is the first time there has been a decrease in the national average since mid-March.
The drop, albeit it small, follows the latest Energy Information Administration (EIA) report showing consistently strong demand although it is running slightly below (100,000 b/d less) the same week last year.
AAA reports Gas Prices on 2-Week Skid
January 23, 2017
Tampa, FL – Gas prices have inched lower for nearly two consecutive weeks. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded has declined for 17 consecutive days in Florida, and 12 days straight in Georgia and Tennessee. During these streaks, average prices have dropped 6 cents in Florida, 4 cents in Georgia and 3 cents in Tennessee.
“Gas prices are taking their seasonal downward turn,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Falling demand leads to oil and gasoline supply builds, which has pushed fuel prices lower. Gas prices should trend lower to finish the month, but begin a seasonal rise in February due to refinery maintenance season.”
AAA reports Gas Prices begin to fall
January 18, 2017
Tampa, FL – There is downward pressure at the gas pump, but not to the point that many motorists will notice. Gas prices are declining by fractions of a penny per day. However, that does add up over time. During the past week, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded declined 2 cents in Florida and Georgia, and 1-cent in Tennessee.
“Gas prices are beginning to follow that downward trend we are used to seeing in January, as gasoline demand typically hits its lowest point of the year,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group.
AAA reports Gas Prices continue to fall as Thanksgiving Nears
November 21, 2016
Tampa, FL – Gas prices are falling as 43.5 million Americans plan to hit the road for Thanksgiving. In the past week, state averages declined 5 cents in Florida, 7 cents in Georgia, and 6 cents in Tennessee.
“Motorists are beginning to find gas prices under $2.00 a gallon again,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Low oil prices, lower demand and high gasoline supplies are causing the slump at the pump. Gas prices should push even lower through the holiday weekend, unless crude oil prices suddenly surge.”

AAA reports National Average Gas Price Drops for 10 Consecutive Days
November 17, 2016
Tampa, FL – Pump prices have fallen for 10 consecutive days, reaching today’s national average price of $2.17 per gallon. Drivers are benefiting from the price of retail gasoline with today’s average five cents less per gallon than one week ago and eight cents less than one month ago.
The abundance of crude oil in the global market is contributing to lower prices, and as a result, retail averages are the same price as compared to one year ago.
