AAA Forecasts Fall National Gas Price Average to be a Quarter a Gallon Cheaper than During Summer

Washington, D.C. – AAA forecasts that the national gas price average will drop to $2.70 this fall and has the potential to drop even more. That is 14-cents less a gallon compared to today’s price and more than a quarter cheaper than this year’s recorded high of $2.97 set in May.
“Cheaper-to-produce gasoline and relatively stable crude oil prices in August, combined with an anticipated drop in consumer gasoline demand post-Labor Day, means consumers will see savings when they fill-up at the pump this fall,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.

Tampa, FL – The national gas price average is $2.87, which is a penny more expensive on the week. Pump prices in nearly 30 states are seeing a jump of as much as eight cents, a dozen states saw prices drop and another dozen states’ gas price averages remain stable from last Monday.
“Demand for gasoline this summer remains very strong week-over-week, driving gas prices higher alongside rising crude prices,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.
AAA reports Tennessee Gas Prices rise 1-cent

Nashville, TN – Gas prices increased throughout most of the country last week, albeit by a smaller margin than recent weeks. Tennessee gas prices increased by only 1-cent during the past week, but declined by fractions of a penny over the weekend.
Sunday’s average price of $2.41 is 14 cents more than a month ago, and 34 cents more than this time last year.
AAA reports Gas Prices and Consumer Demand on Steady Decline

Tampa, FL – The national average price for a gallon of gasoline dropped two cents on the week to $2.46. East Coast and Midwest states are seeing the largest drops in gas prices – as much as six cents – in the last week.
While a small number of states, who historically experience ongoing volatility, are seeing increases: Indiana (+11 cents), Michigan (+8 cents), Ohio (+4 cents), Hawaii (+1 cent) and Illinois (+1 cent).
AAA reports Average Gas Prices Holding Steady to Begin August

Tampa Bay, FL – The national average price of gas has held relatively steady over the past week and has declined on just one of the past four days.
The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.12 per gallon, which is the lowest price for this date since 2004 and 26 cents below 2016’s peak price to date of $2.40 on June 11th.
Today’s price is one cent less than one week ago, 12 cents less than one month ago and 48 cents less than the same date last year.
Average U.S. Gas Prices Climb to 2016 High

Tampa, FL – The national average price of gas reached a new 2016 high over the weekend, and today’s average of $2.38 per gallon is the most expensive average since September 2015.
Gas prices have moved higher by two cents per gallon on the week and 16 cents per gallon on the month.
Although pump prices have increased for 28 of the past 33 days, consumers continue to benefit from yearly savings and prices are down 42 cents per gallon compared to a year ago.

Summer gas prices forecast to be the lowest in more than a decade
Tampa, FL – Today, motorists found the lowest gas prices on Memorial Day in 11 years. The average price for a gallon of gasoline was $2.32 nationwide, $2.25 in Florida, $2.27 in Georgia, and $2.16 in Tennessee.
This year’s average prices were 42 cents (US), 39 cents (FL & GA), and 32 cents (TN) lower than last year’s holiday averages.
