Orlando, FL – The COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic has had a profound impact on Americans’ travel plans. How they plan—and protect—those trips have also changed.
According to a recent AAA Travel survey, more than half (55%) of American adults are planning a vacation of at least one overnight stay before the end of next year, and those travelers are increasingly turning to travel insurance to protect their vacation investments.

AAA says Paying at the Pump is Taking Up More of Motorists’ Paychecks

Washington, D.C. – Consumers are spending $69 more a month to fill-up compared to last summer. According to AAA, gasoline expenses are accounting, on average, for seven percent of an American’s 2018 annual income, a one and half percent increase since summer of 2017.
With strong summer consumer gasoline demand expected in the months ahead, AAA says motorists can expect little relief at the pump with the national gas price average ranging between $2.85 – $3.05 through Labor Day.

Knoxville, TN – Food and dining are becoming a more central part of many travelers’ vacation experiences. AAA’s latest travel survey found that an estimated 22 million Americans expect to take a culinary-focused vacation in the next 12 months.
Seventy-five percent of Americans feel that food and dining are an important part of their travel experiences and four in five say they have engaged in such unique activities as touring wineries and distilleries, eating with local families and engaging in hands-on experiences such as cooking classes led by local chefs while traveling.

Almost three out of four (72%) Tennessee travelers will take one to three vacations in 2017, with the highest percentage of trips (41%) planned during the period of April-June.
