Nashville, TN – The majority of Tennessee counties recorded unemployment rates below 5% in May 2021, according to new data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Henry County’s unemployment rate in May was 4.5 percent down 0.1 percent from April’s 4.4 percent.

August Jobs Report: Economy Continues to Rebound As Unemployment Rate Drops

Washington, D.C. – In August, America added nearly 1.4 million new jobs according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly Employment Situation Report, in line with the consensus forecast. The unemployment rate fell by 1.8 percentage points to 8.4 percent, the second largest decline on record. The August jobs report confirms that the strong recovery continues.
Just a few months ago, America had an unemployment rate of 3.5 percent—the lowest rate in 50 years—before jumping to a peak of 14.7 percent in April due to devastation wrought by COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Employment and Average Wages Increase 2015 to 2016
Nashville, TN – Today, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD), in cooperation with the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, released occupational employment and wage information for 2016.
Using statistical data reported by employers across Tennessee, TDLWD analyzed information for 754 occupations in Tennessee, along with 14 metropolitan and nonmetropolitan areas across the state.

American Heart Association Meeting Report
Phoenix, AZ – Workers age 45 and older in sales, office-support or service occupations appear to have more risk factors for heart disease and stroke than workers in management or professional jobs, according to research presented at the American Heart Association’s Epidemiology/Lifestyle 2016 meeting.

Sales, office and administrative support employees: Sixty-eight percent had poor eating habits and 69 percent of sales employees did not have ideal total cholesterol and 82 percent of office and administrative support workers did not have ideal scores for physical activity. Nashville, TN – Tennessee County unemployment rates for October 2013, show the rate increased in 64 counties, decreased in 18, and remained the same in 13 counties.
The unemployment rate for Paris/Henry County was 10.8 percent in September and rose to 11.0 percent in October.
