Land Between the Lakes announces Changes Scheduled for this Season

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – The US Forest Service plans to implement fee and policy changes for some uses and attractions beginning March 1st, 2020 to meet changing visitor needs at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL).

Land Between the Lakes Honors Veterans November 11th-13th

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will join public lands across the nation in honoring veterans on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11th, through Sunday, November 13th, with free admission or user fee waiver at designated facilities (other fees may apply).
Land Between The Lakes will offer veterans, active and retired members of the armed forces, and their families’ free admission (with military ID) into The Homeplace, Elk & Bison Prairie (EBP), Woodlands Nature Station, and Golden Pond Planetarium. Veterans may pick up their free entry passes for the EBP at the Golden Pond Visitor Center November 11th-13th from 9:00am-5:00pm. [Read more]
LBL’s Turkey Bay OHV Area Offers ATV Training

Golden Pond, KY – Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area, at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area, is offering training for All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) riders to help them learn the skills necessary to ride safe while having fun. Users will learn valuable lessons about protecting themselves and respecting the outdoors while riding.
Professionals from the ATV Safety Institute have returned this year to host several ATV safety training courses at LBL throughout 2010. “This training provides a good foundation for people wanting to learn proper riding techniques, build riding confidence, and gain an increased sense of awareness out on the trails,” stated Kyle Varel, Assistant Manager at Turkey Bay. “Topics include correct riding posture, turning safely, and even how to properly tackle obstacles.” Varel said all ATV riders, or members of the household who are the original owners of their ATVs, are invited to attend the training courses.
