June Unemployment Rates Decrease in Majority of Tennessee Counties

Nashville, TN – Unemployment rates in a vast majority of Tennessee’s 95 counties continued to drop in June, according to new data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Seventy-four counties had lower jobless rates for the month, as Tennessee continues to reopen after many businesses closed in the spring to help curb the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus.

In May, the seasonally adjusted jobless rate decreased to 11.3%.

The preliminary seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment rate for April 2020 is 14.7%, which is an unprecedented spike of 11.4 percentage points when compared to March’s revised rate of 3.3%.

Nashville, TN – Newly released data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) shows 38 counties experienced a drop in unemployment during October, while rates remained the same in 24 counties, and increased in 33 counties.
Henry County’s unemployment rate was unchanged in October, remaining at 3.7 percent, the same as September.
