TDOE Releases Continuous Learning Plan Template & Rubric to Support Local School District Plans for Fall

Nashville, TN – On Friday, June 26th, 2020, the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) posted the Continuous Learning Plan template and rubric to assist districts as they plan for the upcoming school year.
On June 22nd, 2020, the Tennessee State Board of Education promulgated the Continuous Learning Plan (CLP) Emergency Rule 0520-01-17 and Policy 3.210.
Tennessee State Board of Education asks Public to Share Feedback on K-12 Math Academic Standards

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee State Board of Education is inviting the public to provide feedback and comments on the state’s K-12 mathematics academic standards through December 6th, 2019, at 12:00pm CT.
To facilitate suggestions on proposed revisions to the academic standards, the State Board launched a public review survey to allow Tennesseans to share their opinions on the current math academic standards.

Nashville, TN – Monday night, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee delivered his first State of the State address and presented budget priorities to a joint session of the General Assembly in the House Chamber.
Governor Lee proposed a strong, conservative budget with a record-breaking deposit to the Rainy Day Fund that will lift the state savings account to a historic high $1.1 billion.

Tennessee Department of Education Releases Educator Diversity Report

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Education Commissioner Candice McQueen today released a new report to provide insight on the racial and ethnic makeup of Tennessee’s student body and educator workforce, as well as outline where the department and districts across the state go from here.
Additionally, for the first time, the department is releasing detailed demographic information by district to increase awareness and prompt further conversations.
