Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security (TDOSHS) continues to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak closely.
At this time, most State Driver Services Centers remain open and the Department is currently taking precautions to protect the health and safety of our customers and employees.
Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announces decrease in Driver Service Center average wait time for first six months of 2013

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced that the average wait time at state driver services centers has decreased so far this year compared to 2012.
The average wait time from January 1st – June 30th at centers statewide, excluding reinstatement centers, fell from 34 minutes in 2012 to 31.5 minutes in 2013. There was a slight increase, however, from the first quarter of 2013 in which the average wait time was 30.5 minutes compared to the second quarter when the wait time averaged 32 minutes. [Read more]

Department Reminds Citizens That Certain Driver Service Centers Will Be Open On First Saturday Of December For Voter ID Issuance Only
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced Monday that during the month of November it had more than doubled the number of photo identifications issued for voting purposes since the end of October.
As of November 28th, the department had issued 6,566 photo IDs for voting purposes, compared to the 2,385 issued as of October 31st. A new state law will require a federal or state-issued photo ID to vote starting in 2012. The law also requires the Department of Safety and Homeland Security to issue photo IDs for voting purposes at no charge. [Read more]
TN Department of Safety and Homeland Security Announces New Driver Service Center Business Hours

New Hours Effective August 15th, 2011
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security today announced the implementation of new business hours for its 49 Driver Service Centers across the state. Effective Monday, August 15th, all Driver Service Centers will operate during the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm. Monday through Friday.
