Subaru of America recalls over 250,000 certain 2003-2014 vehicles because Passenger Frontal Air Bag Inflator May Explode

Washington, D.C. – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Forester, 2003-2006 Baja, 2004-2011 Impreza, 2004-2014 WRX (including STI), 2003-2014 Legacy and Outback, and 2006 Saab 9-2X vehicles because the passenger frontal air bag inflator may explode.
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Yonkers, NY – Seven new vehicles made Consumer Reports’ 2016 Annual Top Picks list—the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Kia Sorento, Toyota Sienna, Toyota Camry, Lexus RX, Honda Fit, and Ford F-150 — in each of their respective categories.
The redesigned Ford F-150 was named best Pickup Truck, thanks in part to its fuel economy, quiet and spacious cabin, and much-improved infotainment system. It’s Ford’s first win in the category since 1999 and its first overall Top Pick honor since 2012.

Yonkers, NY – The Toyota Camry Hybrid is the best overall value for the automotive dollar according to Consumer Reports’ 2014 Annual New-Car Value Rankings.
Consumer Reports calculated that the Camry Hybrid earned the highest value score of 2.01, which indicates consumer dollars go about twice as far with this car than they do with the average-value car.

Pricey Mercedes-Benz ML 350 and BMW X5 midsize SUVs improve, but fall short of class leaders
Yonkers, NY – With its large back seat, easy access and ample cargo space, the family-friendly Honda CR-V narrowly topped the Mazda CX-5 in Consumer Reports’ latest head-to-head small SUVs tests.
On paper, the redesigned CR-V and new CX-5 appear very similar. Both can accommodate five passengers, have comparable dimensions, are available with front- or all-wheel drive, and are priced about the same. They also finished very close in CR’s overall road-test scores—with a 77 and a 75, respectively—just under the segment-leading Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester. [Read more]
