Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Paris Gun Store Burglary suspects arrested in Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Clarksville Police Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol apprehended three adults and two juveniles in connection to a gun store burglary.
The burglary occurred at JMC Firearms in Paris, Tennessee at approximately 4:28am on Monday, March 16th, 2020. The suspect vehicle was pursued by the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office and was picked up by Montgomery County Deputies at the Stewart and Montgomery County line on Dover Road. Deputies effectively deployed spike strips as the vehicle continued east on Dover Road.
Kirby Wallace captured in Stewart County

Woodlawn, TN – Just before 10:30am Friday morning, September 5th, 2018, Kirby Gene Wallace was taken into custody by Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew and Corporal Stacey Bostwick. This ended a week long manhunt for the 53 year old Wallace who was wanted for killing two people and injuring another.
Belew and Bostwick had left the search Thursday afternoon but were called back around 12:30am Friday morning because there was need of another track dog. Stacey Bostwick handles Rowdy one of Henry County’s blood hounds.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam Announces Reward in Dover Murder Case

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam today announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the kidnapping and murder in 1980 of sisters Carla Atkins and Vickie Stout.
“We believe someone has information that could help solve this case, and we want whoever is responsible for this crime to be brought to justice,” Haslam said. “We ask anyone with knowledge of the case to come forward.”

$5,000 offered in 1980 Stewart County kidnapping and murder of two teens was announced today by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam.
Paris Landing Tourism League hosting innaugural Bike Event this Weekend

Paris Landing, TN – “Come Play With Us” is the motto of the Paris Landing Tourism League, and Sara Jo Sutherland, president, has planned a big event to encourage a whole new group of folks to discover all the recreational opportunities of our community.
The Tour de Paris Landing, a bicycle road race planned for August 10th and 11th, will feature a 45 mile competition on Saturday, an 85 mile trek on Sunday and will cover Henry and Stewart Counties.
