LBL’s Early Squirrel Season Begins May 13th

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area’s 2017 spring squirrel hunting season will open May 13th – June 11th, in Tennessee and May 20th – June 16th, in Kentucky.
Hunters must have a valid Kentucky or Tennessee state hunting license for the state in which they are hunting. Hunters age 16 and older must also have a Land Between the Lakes Hunter Use Permit. These are available online, 24/7 at www.landbetweenthelakes.us/reservations

TRWA announces 2015 Free Hunt Day set for August 22nd, Squirrel Season to Open

Nashville, TN – Tennessee residents are allowed to hunt without a license on Saturday, August 22nd which coincides with the opening day of squirrel season.
Free Hunting Day is an event the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency annually provides in hopes of increasing interest in hunting. Squirrel hunting is one of Tennessee’s oldest and favorite traditions. The day serves as an excellent opportunity for persons to experience the enjoyment of the sport. [Read more]
Tennessee Squirrel Season opens May 9th

Nashville, TN – Tennessee’s spring hunting season for gray, fox and red squirrels opens Saturday, May 9th and will continue through Sunday, June 14th.
The daily bag limit is 10, the same for the fall/winter squirrel season which is from late August to the end of February.
There are five species of tree squirrels found in Tennessee. Two species, the southern flying squirrel and the northern flying squirrel, are not hunted. They are small and nocturnal and seldom seen. [Read more]
