From 2012 to 2017, the United States Census of Agriculture reported a 1.7% decline in male farmers and a 27% increase of female farmers nationwide.

TWRA reports 2018 Muzzleloader Season Opening Weekend Nets almost 7,700 Deer Harvested

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Tennessee deer hunters had a harvest of 7,683 on the opening weekend of muzzleloader season as reports continued to trickle in Monday, November 5th, 2018 according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

The current harvest number is an increase from the 4,949 recorded on the 2017 opening weekend.

Roane County had the top weekend with a harvest total of 237. Montgomery County was second with 223.

As part of our FCC Connect America Fund commitment, AT&T has deployed high-speed internet service to rural and underserved locations in parts of 51 counties serving more than 37,000 Tennessee locations.

TWRA announces Antlerless Deer Hunting available on Private Lands only in L Counties, January 8th-12th

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced that antlerless deer hunting will be allowed on all privately owned lands in Unit L counties January 8th-12th, 2018. This is the third year for the five days of hunting following the completion of the deer season on January 7th.

Privately owned lands include leased land and lands owned by individuals.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam Asks for Federal Disaster Declaration to Assist 12 Counties Recovering from Memorial Weekend Storms

Tennessee State GovernmentNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has requested that President Donald Trump declare a major disaster in Tennessee from the severe storms and straight-line winds of May 27th, and May 28th, 2017, in order to make federal assistance available for recovery efforts in the State’s impacted city and county jurisdictions.

“Community leaders, emergency managers, first responders, local officials and non-profits across Tennessee have worked tirelessly to help their neighbors recover from the impacts of the severe storms,“ Haslam said.
