Teacher Appreciation Weekend at Land Between The Lakes

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Teachers will receive free general admission to the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and Living History Museum, Golden Pond Planetarium, and Woodlands Nature Station on Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th at Land Between The Lakes.
Current and retired teachers, home educators, and their immediate families qualify for free entry. A letter printed on school letterhead, a school faculty ID card, or home educator identification should be presented at each site.

Educational Field Trip Grants Available for Land Between The Lakes

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area offers public school districts within 100 miles an opportunity to receive an Educational Field Trip Grant for the 2015-2016 school year. Educators must apply by April 30th, 2015.
Educational Field Trip Grants assist schools in covering costs for transportation; facility admission fees at Woodlands Nature Station, The Homeplace, and Golden Pond Planetarium; program costs; and dorm rental at Brandon Spring Group Center during the 2015-2016 school year.
Puppy is now officially 5 months old here. Her 5 month old birthday was Oct 2nd, 2014. Here she is hanging out next to dad. As you can see she is about 1/2 the size of parents. (Brooke Gilley)

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area is presenting Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge Tour on Saturday, February 11th, 2012, from 9:00am-12:00pm.
Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge, which is managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in Stewart County, TN, provides one of the area’s best wildlife viewing hotspots. [Read more]
Land Between the Lakes Facilities Re-Open for 2011 Season

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area begins its 2011 operations on Wednesday March 2nd, by opening several popular visitor attractions.
The Golden Pond Planetarium and North and South Welcome Stations open their doors March 1st, along with Hillman Ferry and Piney Campgrounds. (After recent improvements, the campground reservation system is now available for use.) Beginning March 2nd, The Homeplace and Woodlands Nature Station will be open Wednesday through Sunday during March, and then open seven days a week beginning April 1st. [Read more]
New Nature Watch Series at LBL

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area and Lake Barkley State Resort Park are teaming up to present the first in a new seasonal Nature Watch Series. Pelicans and Prairies will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 30th-31st.
“Come out and enjoy abundant fall wildlife viewing opportunities at Lake Barkley and LBL,” said Sharon Waltrip, LBL’s Program Manager for Environmental Education and Interpretation. “This new Nature Watch Series will take outdoor enthusiasts to our region’s hidden corners to witness some of nature’s greatest moments, stay tuned for more in this exciting new series.”
