Pump Prices continue to Fall for Majority of Motorists

AAATampa, FL – AAA reports that the national gas price average dropped by four cents on the week to $2.60, despite a jump in gasoline demand and a draw in gasoline stocks.

That is the largest one-week decrease since gas prices started to increase more than six weeks ago. Today’s average is a nickel cheaper than last month and 21-cents cheaper than last year at this time.

National Gas Price Average Slowly, but Steadily Declines for Three Weeks

AAATampa, FL – AAA says despite an unseasonal spike in demand, according to the Energy Information Admiration’s (EIA) latest data sets, gas prices are decreasing for the majority of motorists across the country as crude oil prices (WTI) remain under $54.00/bbl.

Today, the national average gas price is $2.63, which is two cents less than last week and 26 cents cheaper than last year, but six-cents more expensive than last month.

AAA reports National Gas Price Average Jumps by a Dime in One Week

AAATampa, FL – AAA says that last week was the first time since early June that the national gas price average jumped more than a nickel in under a few days. On the week, it’s a dime more expensive at $2.66 with half of states seeing prices increase by 10 cents or more.

However, even with the significant increase, the national average is still cheaper compared to last month (-6 cents) and last year (-19 cents).

AAA reports Despite Year-Over-Year Gasoline Stock Level Deficit, Gas Prices Decline

AAATampa, FL – According to AAA, Gas prices are nearly six cents cheaper in some states across the country on the week, which has pushed the national gas price average cheaper by a penny to $2.85 today.

That average could have been even lower had a handful of Midwest states not seen prices increase by more than a nickel due to ongoing refinery maintenance.

AAA Forecasts Fall National Gas Price Average to be a Quarter a Gallon Cheaper than During Summer

AAAWashington, D.C. – AAA forecasts that the national gas price average will drop to $2.70 this fall and has the potential to drop even more. That is 14-cents less a gallon compared to today’s price and more than a quarter cheaper than this year’s recorded high of $2.97 set in May.

“Cheaper-to-produce gasoline and relatively stable crude oil prices in August, combined with an anticipated drop in consumer gasoline demand post-Labor Day, means consumers will see savings when they fill-up at the pump this fall,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.

National Gas Price Average Holds Steady for Labor Day

AAATampa, FL – Motorists across the country continue to see their local pump prices dropping. On the week, state gas price averages declined as much as four cents while the national gas price average held steady at $2.84, which is two-cents cheaper than a month ago, but 48-cents more than a year ago.

“With Labor Day approaching, motorists could see a small swing towards higher gas prices, but any jump should not last past the holiday weekend,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.

AAA reports Gas Prices on the Rise as Demand Remains Strong

AAATampa, FL – The national gas price average is $2.87, which is a penny more expensive on the week. Pump prices in nearly 30 states are seeing a jump of as much as eight cents, a dozen states saw prices drop and another dozen states’ gas price averages remain stable from last Monday.

National Gas Price Average Falls For First Time in Three Months

AAATampa, FL – Dropping by two-cents on the week, the national gas price average is $2.95 reports AAA. This is the first time there has been a decrease in the national average since mid-March.

The drop, albeit it small, follows the latest Energy Information Administration (EIA) report showing consistently strong demand although it is running slightly below (100,000 b/d less) the same week last year.

AAA reports Gas Price Averages Trending Cheaper on the Week Nationwide

AAATampa, FL – The national gas price average has been steadily decreasing for nearly two weeks dropping from the year-to-date high of $2.61 (on February 5th) to today’s national average of $2.53.

Motorists in nearly every state are paying less on the week with Midwest and Southern states seeing the largest price drops at the pump. Hawaii (+2 cents) and Indiana (+1 cent) were the only states to see increases.

National Gas Price Average Jumps Four Cents Alongside an Increase in Consumer Demand

AAATampa, FL – Gas prices jumped four cents on the week landing today’s national average at $2.53. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased 164,000 bbl on the week to register at 8.8 million.

The demand measurement is the highest demand for the first EIA report of January since 2011. The demand increase is a contributing factor to this week’s higher pump prices.
