Summer Finale and 1850’s County Fair & Storytelling Festival Labor Day Weekend at LBL

Golden Pond, KY – Spend your Labor Day Weekend enjoying a variety of outdoor activities to celebrate the end of summer at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area.
Join us September 3rd-5th, as we celebrate LBL’s Summer Finale at Woodlands Nature Station (NS). Activities include appearances by Smokey Bear, canoe trips, nature hikes, a campfire, a watermelon feast, and much more. Visitors to the NS can also enjoy live animal programs, nature exhibits, backyard bird-watching, and nature trails.

Golden Pond, KY – Musicians and music lovers from all over the mid-South are tuning up for the annual Pickin’ Party Old-Time Music Festival, scheduled for Memorial Day weekend at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. Old-time country, bluegrass, and gospel music will once again echo throughout The Homeplace, a living history farm located in the Tennessee portion of LBL.
“The Pickin’ Party has made a name for itself throughout the region as an event that promotes and keeps Kentucky and Tennessee music traditions alive,” said Homeplace Special Events Coordinator, Cindy Earls. “It’s exciting to see the level of talent displayed during this weekend, especially the young musicians who are so dedicated in preserving the traditions of their ancestors.
