At this time, most State Driver Services Centers remain open and the Department is currently taking precautions to protect the health and safety of our customers and employees.

AAA says Don’t Be Left on the Ground without a REAL ID

Nashville, TN – As consumers make travel plans for 2020, AAA is reminding them about another consideration: as of October 1st, 2020, they will likely need to present a different form of identification to board a domestic flight.
Beginning in October 2020, the accepted forms of identification for boarding domestic flights or for entering most federal facilities will be a current passport, passport card, military ID, or REAL ID-compliant state driver’s license.

Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security To Implement Driver Services Enhancements

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security will implement the following enhancements in the highest volume centers in an effort to better serve the citizens of Tennessee.
The Consumer Union urged regulators to ban the use of credit histories and some other non-driving factors for setting premiums at a National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) hearing.
