Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announces results of Week Long Human Trafficking Operation

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced results of a week-long operation to better understand and combat human trafficking in Tennessee.
With the partnership of the Brentwood Police Department, the Clarksville Police Department, and End Slavery Tennessee, TBI Agents embarked on an undercover operation to identify potential victims of trafficking, arrest those seeking to purchase illicit sex, and learn more about the specific nuances of this type of crime.
Eagle Scout Project Enhances Visitor Experience at Nature Station

Golden Pond, KY – Jordan Abernathy with Boy Scout Troop 200 in Paducah Kentucky completed his Eagle Scout project on November 15th, 2014, at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.
Completion of an in-depth, public service project is required to attain the highest rank in the Boy Scouts–an Eagle Scout. Jordan designed, built, and installed an arbor with a bench in the Nature Station’s Backyard Native Gardens and hummingbird feeding area.

LBL’s The Homeplace Trades Fair returns Labor Day Weekend

Golden Pond, KY – Labor Day weekend 2014, The Homeplace 1850’s working farm will gather traditional trades and crafts people to share their knowledge of vanishing folk art skills to visitors to their annual Homeplace Trades Fair.
The fair will be Saturday and Sunday, August 30th and 31st, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, on the farm located in the Tennessee portion of Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.

Tennessee Titans Carvan to make stop in Paris Tennessee Tuesday, April 30th

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have announced that Akeem Ayers and Jurrell Casey are scheduled to appear at 3:00pm Tuesday, April 30th at the Clifty Farm Country Ham located at 1500 Highway 641.
The Academy Sports + Outdoors Titans Caravan is a regional series of school visits and free, public autograph signings from April 29th through May 10th.

Tennessee Titans T-Rac was with the Titans Caravan when it rolled into Clarksville April 30th, 2012. T-Rac was by throngs of fans at the Kroger at 1489 Madison Street.
Morehead Wins EverStart Series Championship on Kentucky Lake

Troy Anderson wins co-angler title
Buchanan, TN – Prevacid pro Dan Morehead of Paducah, KY, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 19 pounds, 5 ounces Sunday to win the EverStart Series Championship on Kentucky Lake with a four day total of 20 bass weighing 61 pounds, 4 ounces. For his victory, Morehead earned $50,000 plus a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard motor.

Soccer Kids into the Woods project receives Funding

To Help Establish Local Kids’ Natural Resource Programs
Golden Pond, KY – The U.S. Forest Service recently awarded $36,400 to the Soccer Kids into the Woods project at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. The award is in support of conservation education programs that will provide local community children more opportunities to experience the great outdoors, learn about nature, and build a lasting commitment to conservation and land stewardship.
“The value of expanding our programs for children must not be underestimated,” said U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell. “Young people are tomorrow’s stewards of our public lands, and we have a duty to help them develop a lasting connection and passion for conservation of America’s great outdoors.” [Read more]
