Gas Prices Fall in Time for Thanksgiving Holiday
November 23, 2015
Tampa, FL – When 41.9 million Americans fill-up the car for a Thanksgiving road trip, they will pay the cheapest pump prices for the holiday since 2008. The average price of gasoline nationwide is $2.08, 72 cents lower than last year’s average of $2.80 on Thanksgiving Day.
“Motorists are saving around $11 for a full tank of gas compared to this time last year,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “That gives travelers more money to spend on lodging, shopping and dining out. For those on the fence about taking a trip, these low gas prices could be all the incentive one needs to hit the road.”

AAA says One Third of 2015 Vehicles missing Spare Tire
November 12, 2015
Knoxville, TN – According to new research from AAA, eliminating the spare tire may leave more than 30 million drivers helpless at the roadside. Automakers have been under increased pressure from the Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency to produce more fuel-efficient vehicles.
One way to accomplish this is by removing the spare tire and replacing it with tire inflator kits. This reduces the weight of the vehicle providing for better fuel performance. AAA urges automakers to put consumer interests first and rethink eliminating the spare tire.
AAA says Rising Oil Prices push Gas Prices Higher
November 9, 2015
Tampa, FL – The price of oil moved higher last week and pulled gasoline prices up with it. The average price of gasoline rose 4 cents since October 31st. Average prices in the southeastern U.S. also rose 5 cents in Florida, and 8 cents in Georgia and Tennessee.
“This is one of what should be very few speed bumps in the road to lower gas prices as we close out the year,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Gas prices are forecast to remain low the rest of the year, but at their current lows, pump prices are vulnerable to modest fluctuations in the price of oil, which influences about two-thirds the price of gasoline.”
AAA looks at Year-End Gas Prices

Gas prices fell 74 cents from November – December 2014; will that happen again this year?
Tampa, FL – The price of gasoline tumbled lower last week as it continues to adjust to increased supplies and low oil prices. The average price of gasoline was $2.19 on Sunday, a 2 cent decline from last week.
“Prices should remain low through the holiday season,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “The national average could dip well below $2.00 a gallon by Christmas as long as oil prices remain low and there are no interruptions in gasoline supply.”
