AAA says 2018 Kicks-off with Most Expensive Gas Prices Since 2014

Tampa, FL – At $2.49, the national gas price average is the most expensive seen at the start of a new year since 2014, when gas prices were more than $3.00/gallon. High travel volumes over the holidays drove gas prices up five cents on the week.
At the start of 2018, motorists in the Northeast, South and the upper Midwest are seeing pump prices as much as 13 cents more expensive than last one week ago.

Tampa Bay, FL – The average price at the pump has fallen for 15 of the last 20 days, for a total savings of seven cents per gallon.
The national average currently sits at $2.46 per gallon, which is one cent less than one week ago, 12 cents less than one month ago and 24 cents more year-over-year. The national average is down 17 cents per gallon versus the 2017 peak price reached in September ($2.67).

The average price at the pump has fallen for 15 of the last 20 days, for a total savings of seven cents per gallon.

Tampa, FL – Oil prices slipped fractions of a penny over the weekend, reaching today’s national average price for regular unleaded gasoline of $2.31 per gallon. Today’s price is still two cents more than one week ago, four cents more compared to one month ago and 50 cents more per gallon year-over-year.
Retail prices continue to fluctuate but have remained between $2.28-2.32 for more than a month as reports of increased U.S. production continues to counter OPEC rebalancing efforts.

Tampa, FL – National gas prices have increased fractions of a penny to reach today’s average price for regular unleaded gasoline, which is $2.28 per gallon. Today’s average is the same as one week ago, five cents less compared to one month ago and 56 cents more than the same date last year.
Prices continue to remain flat due to lower driving demand and an oversupplied market as a result of increased U.S. production. As refinery maintenance season begins and driving demand increases, we could expect to see some of the gasoline supply in the U.S. soaked up.

Although today’s average remains flat compared to one week ago, drivers are paying ten cents less per gallon month-over-month, and 52 cents more per gallon year-over-year.

Tampa, FL – Pump prices have fallen for 10 consecutive days, reaching today’s national average price of $2.17 per gallon. Drivers are benefiting from the price of retail gasoline with today’s average five cents less per gallon than one week ago and eight cents less than one month ago.
The abundance of crude oil in the global market is contributing to lower prices, and as a result, retail averages are the same price as compared to one year ago.

Colonial Pipeline Partial Closure may cause Temporary Price Increase and Supply Shortage in Tennessee

Knoxville, TN – The Colonial pipeline, supplying much of the East Coast running from Texas to New Jersey See Map Here, has been partially closed since September 9th when a leak was discovered in Alabama.
The company originally anticipated having the pipeline reopened by this weekend, but bad weather has delayed the fix. This partial closure has caused tighter supply for some southeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
AAA says Gas Prices Drop to Close Out Labor Day Weekend

Tampa, FL – The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline has dropped six consecutive days after rising for 16 straight days to close out August. Today’s national average is $2.20 per gallon. Gas prices started turning lower heading into the Labor Day weekend, which marks the unofficial end to the summer driving season.
Today’s national average is two cents less than a week ago and 18 cents less than a year ago but 8 cents more than one month ago. The year-on-year discount persists but has closed more than 30 cents in just 20 days.

Tampa Bay, FL – The national average price of gas has held relatively steady over the past week and has declined on just one of the past four days.
The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.12 per gallon, which is the lowest price for this date since 2004 and 26 cents below 2016’s peak price to date of $2.40 on June 11th.
Today’s price is one cent less than one week ago, 12 cents less than one month ago and 48 cents less than the same date last year.
