Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee Slated for September 10th-17th

22nd Annual Event to Loop through Beautiful Middle Tennessee;
Registration Deadline Extended to September 1st

Tennessee State ParksNashville, TN – With less than a month away, bicycle enthusiasts across the state are encouraged to register for the Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee, slated for September 10th-17th. In its 22nd year, this year’s seven-day ride will feature a loop through some of Middle Tennessee’s most stunning landscapes.

Originating at Montgomery Bell State Park, this year’s route will feature a combination of rolling hills, valleys and some flat terrain. Cyclists can expect to experience beautiful, rural Tennessee scenery and interesting back roads along the way, including the Natchez Trace Parkway and visits to several Tennessee State Parks such as Dunbar Cave. Tennessee Department of TransportationNashville, TN – As people across the United States make plans for autumn road trips, the Tennessee Department of Transportation is reminding motorists that Tennessee’s award winning Scenic Byways offer some of the best views in the south. Tennessee has five nationally designated Scenic Byways, the Cherohala Skyway, East Tennessee Crossing, Natchez Trace Parkway, Woodlands Trace and Great River Road.

“Tennessee’s scenic byways travel through some of the state’s most unique and beautiful locations,” said TDOT Chief of Environment and Planning Joe Carpenter. “We are pleased to partner with local communities and byways groups to give travelers the opportunity to explore Tennessee’s natural beauty through our five National Scenic Byways.” [Read more]
