AAA says Tennessee Gas Price Average Falls Two Cents

Nashville, TN – Tennessee gas prices fell, on average, by two cents over the last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $1.91 which is nearly 2 cents less than one month ago and 40 cents less than one year ago.
“The U.S. has a very healthy level of gasoline stocks due to lower demand and that is keeping gas prices low,” said Megan Cooper, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Tennessee’s state gas price average has declined the past 13 consecutive days, for a total discount of four cents.”
Tennessee County Unemployment Rates drop across State

Nashville, TN – The unemployment situation in three-quarters of Tennessee’s 95 counties continued to improve in July following business closures earlier in the year due to the COVID-19 health emergency.
Henry County unemployment rate was 8.1 percent in July. That’s down 0.8 percent from June’s 8.9 percent.
Tennessee Department of Transportation Awarded $11.2 Million Federal Rebuilding America Grant

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation has been awarded an $11,200,000 federal Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) Grant. The grant money will provide partial funding for the I-40 Smart Fiber Project, which will expand Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technologies along I-40 between Memphis and Nashville.
Marsha Blackburn announces Grant to Expand Broadband Access between Memphis and Nashville

Washington, D.C. – Today, Tuesday, June 16th, 2020, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) announced that ten counties in West Tennessee and Middle Tennessee would receive an $11.2 million grant through the Department of Transportation’s Infrastructure for Rebuilding America program.
The grant, the direct result of a request made by Senator Blackburn earlier this year, will fund approximately 143 miles of fiber optic communications on I-40 between Memphis and Nashville.
Tennessee Department of Children’s Services takes action after Juvenile Tests Positive for COVID-19

IRS Offers Saturday Help February 26th, March 26th in Chattanooga, Memphis, and Nashville

Nashville, TN – Taxpayers who may have difficulty scheduling a weekday visit to an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center can take advantage of the IRS offices in Chattanooga, Memphis and Nashville being open Saturday, February 26th, and Saturday, March 26th, from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
