ampa, FL – AAA says the vast majority of the 37.6 million Americans who hit the road this past Memorial Day weekend found savings at the pump compared to last year’s holiday. Today, 42 states and Washington, D.C. have gas price averages that are less expensive year-over-year, with Floridians (-31 cents) seeing the largest yearly change. Motorists in West Coast states are the exception, paying nearly double-digits more than last May to fill up.
TWRA says Tennessee’s Summer Boating Season traditionally starts Memorial Day Holiday Weekend

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) wants to emphasize the use of life jackets along with boating in a safe and responsible manner during the 2019 Memorial Day holiday weekend, May 24th-27th.
The Memorial Day holiday weekend is regarded as the unofficial start to the summer boating season and is one of the year’s busiest boating weekends. Last year, there were no boating-related fatalities over the holiday weekend for the fourth consecutive year.
Tennessee Department of Transportation to Suspend All Lane Closure Activity for Memorial Day Weekend

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) says motorists won’t be delayed by road construction as they travel Tennessee’s highways this Memorial Day weekend.
The TDOT will suspend all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state routes beginning at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 24th through 6:00am on Tuesday, May 28th, 2019.
AAA says Gas prices see Largest Weekly Decline in Three Months

Tampa, FL – Declining slowly but steadily across the country, gas prices are pushing the national average down three cents on the week to $2.86.
Today’s average is four cents cheaper than last month and the same price as one year ago. In fact, 25 states have gas price averages that are just a nickel or less expensive than this time last year.
AAA says Growing Global Crude Supply Outpaces Demand, Driving December Pump Prices to Cheapest of the Year

Washington, D.C. – At $2.44 the national gas price average has set a new record low for 2018. This is nearly a nickel less than this time last December. AAA expects the national gas price average to fluctuate through the end of the month and possibly end the year as cheap as $2.40.
Globally, crude supply is growing faster than anticipated. Contributing to the surplus is the United States’ record-breaking production levels – which hit the highest level ever recorded by the Energy Information Administration at 11.7 million b/d last month.

Clarksville-Montgomery County has the Second Cheapest Gas Prices in Tennessee
Nashville, TN – Gas prices in Tennessee climbed 5 cents last week. Sunday’s state average of $2.63 per gallon is 3 cents more than a month ago and 15 cents more than this time last year.
Tennessee gas prices have hovered within 5 cents of their current range since early June. However, prices remain 10 cents less than this year’s high – established during Memorial Day weekend.

Tampa, FL – Motorists are getting some welcome relief from high prices at the pump. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is averaged $2.90 on Sunday, after declining 7 cents since Memorial Day weekend.
Gas prices in Tennessee declined 3 cents last week. Prices at the pump averaged $2.65 per gallon on Sunday. Since peaking at $2.73 on Memorial Day weekend, prices have declined a total of 8 cents.

Tampa, FL – Gas prices rocketed higher last week in most markets, due to reductions in domestic supply and the oil market’s response to the President’s decision to leave the Iran Nuclear Deal.
Tennessee gas prices rose 3 cents during the past week. The average price in Tennessee now sits at $2.62 per gallon – the highest daily price since November 2014. See today’s price.

Nashville, TN – Memorial Day holiday weekend is regarded as the unofficial start to the summer boating season and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency wants to emphasize the use of life jackets while boating in a safe and responsible manner.
Annually, the Memorial Day weekend is one of the year’s busiest boating weekends. Last year, there were not any boating-related fatalities over the holiday weekend for the second consecutive year. There were six reported accidents, four of which resulted in injuries.
