AAAWashington, D.C. – At $70.00/bbl, crude oil has increased to its highest price since October 2018 and is now $23/bbl more expensive than it was this past January.

Crude prices have steadily climbed this year along with optimism for the COVID-19 Coronavirus vaccine and the promising impact it will have on global gasoline demand.

AAA reports Motorists see Minimal Movement at the Pump over Holiday Weekend

AAAWashington, D.C. – AAA says that at $3.04, the national gas price average only increased one penny leading up to Memorial Day weekend. The majority of states saw no change to pump prices or a decline on the week.

However, prices may not stay stagnant for long. For the week ending May 21st, demand jumped to 9.4 million b/d—the highest reported number since early March 2020 and up nearly 30% over the same week last year, indicating motorists are filling up more frequently.

AAA reports Tennessee Gas Prices Hold Steady Over Memorial Day Weekend

AAANashville, TN – Gas prices across Tennessee held steady over Memorial Day weekend. Today’s state gas price average is the same price as one week ago. 

The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.87 which is 17 cents more than one month ago and $1.15 more than one year ago.

Tennessee Highway Patrol to increase patrols during Memorial Day Weekend

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) plans to increase patrols and utilize a variety of traffic safety enforcement tools to reduce the number of serious injury and fatal crashes across the state during this year’s Memorial Day holiday period. The THP will conduct saturation patrols, seat belt and sobriety checkpoints, as well as increased visibility on high-crash corridors throughout the summer to reduce serious injury and fatal crashes.

“Memorial Day signals the start of summer travel,” said Colonel Matt Perry. “We are coming out of a pandemic that created severe and unique challenges for us all. With this, we see traffic fatalities on the rise. Now that more vehicles are getting back on the road, we need you now more than ever to drive safe.”

TWRA says Tennessee Boating Season kicks off Memorial Day Weekend

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Memorial Day holiday weekend is looked upon as the start to the summer boating season and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) wants to emphasize the use of life jackets along with boating in a safe and responsible manner.

The May 29th-31st holiday weekend is expected to be one of the busiest of the year with many boaters going to the water for first time in 2021. Along with the use of life jackets, TWRA wants to stress the responsible use of alcohol while boating.

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – Road Construction will not delay motorists as they travel Tennessee’s highways this Memorial Day weekend.

AAANashville, TN – Tennessee gas prices are down by nearly two cents on the week as over 687,000 Tennesseans prepare to hit the road for Memorial Day Weekend.

AAA reports Southeast Continues to See Tight Supply as Gas Prices Stabilize

AAAWashington, D.C. – The national gas price average is the most expensive in six years at $3.04. Gas prices were expected to flirt with $3.00/gallon leading up to Memorial Day weekend, but last week’s shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline caused prices to spike weeks ahead of the holiday.

On the week, the national average jumped eight cents.
