Along with fentanyl there are other, more powerful drugs like carfentanil that are being used in counterfeiting legal drugs like Percocet and even counterfeiting of illegal heroin.

1,451 Tennesseans Die from Drug Overdoses in 2015

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Health data show 1,451 people died from drug overdoses in the state in 2015.

This is the highest annual number of overdose deaths recorded in state history and brings the five-year total for Tennessee to 6,036 lives lost. That figure is approximately the equivalent of every person on 40 mid-size jet liners dying.

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationJackson, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death this afternoon of a TBI Special Agent during the course of an ongoing drug investigation.

Preliminary information indicates Special Agent De’Greaun Frazier was one of several agents working alongside the Metro Narcotics Unit during a controlled buy this afternoon around 2:00pm in a vehicle in the area of Brianfield Cove.
