AAA says Memorial Day Holiday Travel to Rebound to More Than 37 Million

AAAOrlando, FL – AAA Travel expects a significant rebound in the number of Americans planning to travel this Memorial Day holiday weekend.

From May 27th through May 31st, more than 37 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more from home, an increase of 60% from last year when only 23 million traveled, the lowest on record since AAA began recording in 2000.

Survey shows Coronavirus Pandemic Raises Widespread Worry About Personal Finances

National Financial Educators CouncilLas Vegas, NVIn a survey conducted between March 23rd and 27th, 2020, the National Financial Educators Council surveyed 4,803 people to better understand the connection between the coronavirus outbreak and personal finances.

The goal of asking these survey questions was to measure people’s readiness for an emergency event, the impact of the coronavirus on people’s finances, and the concerns people have based on the outbreak.

In an effort to clarify how people perceive the coronavirus outbreak is affecting their personal finances, the National Financial Educators Council conducted a survey from March 23rd to March 29th, 2020.

AAA Says 115.6 Million Travelers will Break National and State Holiday Records

AAANashville, TN – More Americans than ever on record – 115.6 million – will travel this holiday season, from Saturday, December 21st through Wednesday, January 1st. That is the most in nearly 20 years since AAA began tracking in 2000, and represents an increase of 3.9% over last year, or 4.3 million more people packing up their sleighs for a holiday getaway.

AAA says 78% of Tennesseans will Travel in 2017

AAAKnoxville, TN – All signs are pointing to a busy year for vacationers and the travel industry. According to a recent AAA Consumer Pulse™ survey, 78 percent of Tennesseans are planning to take a vacation in 2017 – with most planning trips to warm weather destinations in the U.S. and abroad.

Almost three out of four (72%) Tennessee travelers will take one to three vacations in 2017, with the highest percentage of trips (41%) planned during the period of April-June.

AAA says Year-End Holidays to set New Travel Record

AAATampa, FL – More than 103 million Americans will travel for the year-end holidays, according to AAA’s Year-End Holiday Travel Forecast. This represents a 1.5 percent increase, or 1.5 million more travelers than last year, and the highest total volume since AAA began tracking holiday travel data in 2001.

“This will be the most-traveled year-end holiday season on record, particularly for those who drive,” said Joseph J. Richardson Jr., President and CEO, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “If you are planning a road trip, now is the time to get your vehicle inspected. Look for a facility displaying the ‘AAA Approved Auto Repair’ sign to ensure a trustworthy inspection that could catch any problems before they arise.”

Jessica Hibler Crowned Miss Tennessee USA 2012

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors BureauClarksville, TN – Miss Tennessee USA was crowned tonight, making her Tennessee’s next hopeful in the 2012 Miss USA pageant. Jessica Hibler of Nashville accepted her new crown from the reigning Miss Tennessee USA, Ashley Durham of Memphis. Durham was also the first runner up in the Miss USA pageant held this past June in Las Vegas.

Runners-up for the Miss Tennessee USA pageant were Brandy Whaley of Antioch (fourth) Rachael Todd of Nashville (third), LaShan Mathews of Murfreesboro (second) and Tara Zolfagharbik of Paris (first).
