Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam Proposes $30 Million for School Safety

Tennessee Governor’s Fiscal Year 2018-19 Budget Amendment Also Includes Additional Improvements for Broadband, Higher Education and Treatment for Opioid Addiction
Nashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam today proposed $30 million to improve school safety across the state in the amendment to the fiscal year 2018-19 budget proposal to be considered by the Tennessee General Assembly in the coming weeks.
The funding includes $25 million in nonrecurring and $5.2 million in recurring school safety grants.
December Revenues Higher than Expected, Show Increase from Previous Year

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration Commissioner Larry Martin has announced that revenues for December posted higher than expected and exceeded the monthly revenues from the previous year.
State revenues for December were $1.4 billion, which is a growth of 11.34 percent and $139.9 million more than December 2016.

Nashville, TN – The State of Tennessee has completed its annual financial report for fiscal year 2013-14. The Department of Finance and Administration’s Division of Accounts produces the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), for which the state has repeatedly received national recognition for financial reporting.

Jackson, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam today announced the launch of “Healthier Tennessee,” an initiative to encourage Tennesseans to be more physically active, to eat nutritious foods in healthy portions, and not to use tobacco products.

New role will include employee compensation review and performance evaluation update
Nashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam today announced that Larry Martin will join his staff to oversee implementation of the Tennessee Excellence and Accountability Management (TEAM) Act.
His responsibilities will include coordinating and collaborating throughout state government agencies to effectively begin recruiting new employees on all levels, updating performance evaluations in all departments, and a review of employee compensation that includes the salary study funded in the governor’s FY 2013-2014 budget.
