Nashville, TN – The gasoline market opened with a bang on Sunday night. The price on the NYMEX surged 7 percent in overnight trading, signaling upward momentum that is likely to carryover to prices at the pump.

Knoxville, TN – Prices at the pump are holding steady, declining only fractions of a penny over the weekend. Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.15 on Sunday. The state average is 1-cent more than last week, and 24 cents more than last year.

Nashville, TN – Gas prices are mostly climbing around the country. After rising 6 cents in the past week, Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.14 on Sunday.
Last month, Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.03 per gallon; 4 cents more than the average in July 2016. Nationwide, gas prices averaged $2.27 – 6 cents more than July 2016.

Nashville, TN – Gas prices saw another round of increases last week. Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.08 on Sunday. The state average is 3 cents more than last week, and 18 cents more than this time last year.
People using the free AAA mobile app are finding gas prices between $1.90 and $2.35. The price for regular unleaded is below $2.00 per gallon at fewer than 25 percent of gas stations in Tennessee; the price is less than $2.25 at 93 percent of gas stations in the state.

Nashville, TN – Tennessee gas prices increased on Thursday for the first time in more than a month, according to AAA, whose data is collected from credit card swipes and direct feeds from 120,000 gas stations nationwide, in cooperation with OPIS and Wright Express.
This snapped a 37-day streak of declines that delivered a discount of 12 cents.

Nashville, TN – The estimated 37.5 million Americans who hit the road on Independence Day found the lowest gas prices for the holiday in more than a decade, according to AAA, whose data is collected from credit card swipes and direct feeds from 120,000 gas stations nationwide, in cooperation with OPIS and Wright Express.
Although the national average of $2.23 was the lowest for the holiday in 12 years, state averages in the southeastern U.S. were the lowest in 13 years.

Nashville, TN – Gas prices opened the summer travel season averaging the lowest price in 12 years. Since June 1st, 2017, Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.07 – 9 cents less than the same period last year, and the lowest since 2005 ($2.03).
“Lower gas prices will make it more enticing for Americans to take extended, or more frequent road trips this summer,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “And when travelers spend less at the pump, they are left with extra cash to spend on lodging, shopping, and dining out.”
