Nashville, TN – With less than a month away, bicycle enthusiasts across the state are encouraged to register for the Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee, slated for September 10th-17th. In its 22nd year, this year’s seven-day ride will feature a loop through some of Middle Tennessee’s most stunning landscapes.
Originating at Montgomery Bell State Park, this year’s route will feature a combination of rolling hills, valleys and some flat terrain. Cyclists can expect to experience beautiful, rural Tennessee scenery and interesting back roads along the way, including the Natchez Trace Parkway and visits to several Tennessee State Parks such as Dunbar Cave. Encourage All Tennesseans to Take Part and Reduce Waste
Nashville, TN – Monday is America Recycles Day, November 15th, and Tennessee’s departments of Environment and Conservation and Transportation are joining local county and city agencies across the state, providing several opportunities for citizens to reduce waste and make a difference.

“I Recycle is the 2010 theme of America Recycles Day and millions of Americans have pledged to increase their recycling habits at home and at work over the 13-year history of ARD,” said Environment and Conservation Deputy Commissioner Paul Sloan. “There are more than 100 events registered across the state, and we should be proud of these efforts and I encourage all Tennesseans to join us in our commitment to better protect and preserve our natural resources by reducing our waste stream.” [Read more]
