Longest streak of gas price increases in over a year
Tampa, FL – Gas prices jumped another 4 cents last week. The current national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.29. Motorists are now paying 26 cents more a gallon since prices hit a low of $2.03 on January 26th.

Gas Prices Hit Their Lowest Point since December 2010
Tampa, FL – The national average for regular unleaded gasoline fell below $3.00 per gallon for the first time since December 22nd, 2010 on Saturday.
More than sixty percent of U.S. gas stations are currently selling gas lower than $3.00 a gallon, while twenty-three states currently have averages under the $3.00 mark today. [Read more]
AAA reports Gas Prices fall to a 46 Month Low

Tampa, FL – Nationwide motorists are paying the cheapest price at the pump since 2010. The average price of gas has now fallen below the $3.00 mark in seventeen states.
Georgia is one of the newest members of the $3.00 club, the average currently sits at $2.93.
In Florida gasoline is hovering around $3.04, but in metro markets like Orlando, Pensacola, and Tampa motorists are have already seen the average dip below the $3.00 threshold.

AAA says Refinery Outages slow declining Gas Prices

Tampa, FL – Gas prices remained relatively stagnant last week, falling a mere three hundredths of a cent nationwide. Refinery outages in both Canada and Texas have caused the steady decline in gasoline to come to a halt and even spike in some markets. The Pensacola metro area in Florida saw a 6 cent rise in the average price of gas.
“Refinery maintenance, especially in the Gulf, is causing the tightening of supplies is some areas,” said Josh Carrasco, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “As a result of these refinery issues, the downward pressure on gas prices motorists saw earlier in the month has stopped.”

Gas could fall below $3.00 a gallon by years end
Tampa, FL – Motorists continue to enjoy a discount at the pump, as gas prices fall to their lowest point since February. Nationally, the price of gas fell 6 cents in the past week, marking a seven week decline in gasoline prices.
“Last week refineries switched from producing summer to winter-blend fuel,” said Josh Carrasco, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Winter-blend gas is cheaper to produce, because it does not require the additives necessary in summer-blend. AAA says your Vehicle may get better Fuel Mileage than you realize

4 out of 5 drivers report better gas mileage than EPA estimates
Tampa, FL – Motorists looking to save a few dollars on gas mileage can do so by making a few adjustments to their driving habits.
In a study conducted by AAA, 81 percent of drivers reported higher gas mileage than EPA estimates, while only 16 percent reported lower fuel economy than EPA ratings.
