Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health and the Tennessee Hospital Association are recognizing 18 birthing hospitals with the BEST for Babies Award for their efforts to reduce infant deaths in Tennessee.
The BEST award stands for breastfeeding, early elective delivery reduction and safe sleep for Tennessee babies.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports Suspect Apprehended, Charges Pending in Shooting Death of TBI Agent

Jackson, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death this afternoon of a TBI Special Agent during the course of an ongoing drug investigation.
Preliminary information indicates Special Agent De’Greaun Frazier was one of several agents working alongside the Metro Narcotics Unit during a controlled buy this afternoon around 2:00pm in a vehicle in the area of Brianfield Cove.
TBI Special Agent De’Greaun Frazier was shot and killed this afternoon during a controlled Narcotics buy.

Tennessee Department of Health Recognizes Hospital-based Efforts
Nashville, TN – Tennessee First Lady Crissy Haslam and Tennessee Health Commissioner John Dreyzehner, MD, MPH, joined other state and local officials at the Tennessee Residence in Nashville Thursday, February 25th to celebrate the success of the statewide initiative to reduce sleep-related deaths among infants.
TDH has partnered with the Charlie’s Kids Foundation and Tennessee hospitals since 2014 to help new parents and hospital staff members learn the “ABCs of Safe Sleep.” Tennessee has seen a 25 percent reduction in sleep-related deaths of infants during this period.
