AAA reports Gas Prices Level Out During the Weekend
April 18, 2017
Tampa, FL – Gas prices seemed to find level ground over the weekend after increasing for more than two weeks. Before the weekend, gas prices rose an average of 12 cents in 19 days, nationwide; 13 cents in 14 days, in Florida; 13 cents in 18 days, in Georgia; and 14 cents in 20 days, in Tennessee.
“Gas prices rose the wave of rising oil prices last week, pushing pump prices slightly higher in some regions before eventually stalling out over the weekend,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA The Auto Club Group.

Tampa, FL – Motorists are seeing the gas prices hit their highest average since October, yet motorists saw very little movement at the pump this week. The national average increased 1 cent from last week and has remained above $2 a gallon for 53 consecutive days.
“Motorists are seeing some of the highest prices at the pump of the year,” said Josh Carrasco, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group.
AAA reports Oil Prices Hit Three Month Low, Gas Prices Falling Again
November 16, 2015
Tampa, FL – Gas prices should slip lower this week after the price of oil hit its lowest settlement since August. Gasoline prices nationwide are averaging $2.17, after slipping 5 cents last week. Motorists are now saving an average of $11.00 for a full tank of gas.
“Americans are finding the cheapest gas prices for this time of year since 2008,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Now that oil prices are falling again, pump prices should get even cheaper as we approach the holiday travel season.”
AAA reports Gas Prices Lowest since February
September 15, 2014
Tampa, FL – The price at the pump is at it’s lowest point in seven months, nationally. Gas prices fell for the sixth consecutive week, while oil had it’s lowest Friday close since May 2013.
“Motorists should continue to see a discount at the pump,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “High domestic oil supplies, a decrease in global demand, and the easing of geopolitical tensions in Libya and Iraq are keeping downward pressure on gasoline prices. Beginning Monday, refineries are no longer required to sell summer-blend gasoline. Winter-blend is cheaper to produce, which will help push prices even lower in the coming months.” [Read more]
