Delivering 500,000 Books Directly to Tennessee Students & Teachers at Home
Nashville, TN – To combat summer learning loss in Tennessee and support student learning in the home, Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation (GELF) today announced the second year of its K-3 Book Delivery program to deliver 500,000 books to teachers and students statewide, including every rising first-grader in Tennessee.

110,000 teachers and students statewide, including every rising first grader, will benefit from the program as part of GELF’s “Stop the Slide!” campaign to combat summer learning loss.
30,000 Tennessee Students to Receive Free Books Over the Summer

Nashville, TN – Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation (GELF) announces its K-3rd Grade Summer Reading pilot to provide 30,000 students in Tennessee with six books, piloting a Summer Collection from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, at no cost to families or school districts.
